The rest of the original line-up was: Courtney Williams (trumpet), Edwin Johnson (tenor sax - aka Lem Johnson), Clarence Johnson (piano), Charlie Drayton (bass) & Walter Martin (drums, inc' timpani - the band named after his enthusiastic use).
