Roger Bellon was born in Neuilly sur Seine, France. He began studying piano at the age of eight. He attended The Berklee College of Music, Boston, where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition, and post graduate studies in composition and conducting at The École Normale de Musique, Paris. He received numerous commissions from the French Government for his chamber as well as symphonic and choral compositions. His first published composition, "Blackout", a musical work for piano was commissioned by The École Normale de Musique for their yearly piano competition.
